The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ II - Evangelical Messages from God's Word

Joy! Jesus Christ Lives!
The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ
The resurrection of Jesus Christ

Why do you search among the dead for one who lives?
6 He is not here, but is risen. Remember how he told you, was yet in Galilee.
7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered then his words;
9 and returned from the sepulcher, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all others.
10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told these things unto the apostles.
11 And it seemed to them like nonsense words women and they believed them not.
12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb, and stooping down, he saw only the linen cloths, and withdrew, admiring with what had happened. - Lucas 24:5 to 12

The first words we bring a very wonderful revelation:
Why do you search among the dead for one who lives? - Luke 24:5

How wonderful! Our God is a living God and powerful. It's a God full of life and energy. It's a God with strength and power to turn any impossible for blessings in the lives of their beloved sons. Viva! Jesus Christ Lives!

The second thing that strikes us is that the Lord Jesus appeared first to women. Although the Lord had only men as disciples many women of God followed him with great fidelity and devotion. That may have been the reason why our Lord Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene. Certainly the fact that she seek always walk with our Lord helped her to be honored with the first glimpse of the resurrected Christ.

After the women reported what happened to these apostles did not believe in anything they were saying.
Here is a great lesson for our life. This passage warns us about the terrible condition of our faith on the things of God. No judge ever, you can not help but notice that the apostles had no faith nor remembered what the Lord Jesus had told them so many times about his death and resurrection.

Although they have been years with the Master, even if they have seen and heard so many things they did not have faith in future events, these events that the Lord Jesus had prophesied before them.

If the apostles who walked with the Lord Jesus had this kind of behavior imagine ordinary people. Imagine what they would think a person who lives in this present world where many do not even know the commandments of our God. so now you can imagine with is difficult for many people to believe in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. And why the Lord Jesus Christ said, happy were those who believed that without Him they had seen.

36 While still talking about it, Jesus himself stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and frightened, thinking they saw a spirit.
38 But he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And saying this, he showed them his hands and feet.
41 Not believing them yet because of joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of broiled fish,
43 he took it and ate before them.
44 Then he said: These are the words which I spake unto you, being yet present with you, which must be fulfilled all that was written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.
45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures;
46 and said unto them, Thus it is written that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead;
47 and that should be preached in his name repentance for the remission of sins to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And behold, I send upon you the promise of my Father: but tarry ye in the city until you are clothed with the high power.
50 Then led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands and blessed them.
51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he departed from them, and carried up into heaven.
52 And after the worship, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy;
53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.

Luke 00:36 to 53

The third fact is interesting and very revealing appearance of Jesus to his beloved apostles.

Surprisingly the Lord Jesus stood in their midst and they very scared and fearful thought they were seeing a ghost. Again it is clear that they did not believe or did not understand the words that Jesus had told him about the resurrection on the third day, because in their hearts they still had many doubts about what they were seeing and hearing. They only began to understand what was really happening when the Lord opened their understanding.

And we? We believe that the Lord Jesus is risen and He is alive in our midst? The Word tells us that God is a spirit and he is among us. Does the example of the apostles still have doubts about the Glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ?

Of course not! We experience the powerful hand of our Living God in our lives. It was He who delivered us, saved us, changed us, encouraged us, gave us new life and gave us the wonderful grace of eternal life by His side of our God and Father

Amen and thank God. Stay in the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
