16 So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah.
17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, he said to him: Art thou he that troubleth Israel?
18 And he answered me that I have not troubled Israel, but thou and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.
19 Now therefore send and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, as well as the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table.
20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together at Mount Carmel.
21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. The people, however, did not answer anything.
22 Then Elijah said to the people: I alone am left a prophet of the Lord, but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
23 Let us be therefore two bulls, and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces and lay it on wood, but put no fire: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood , and put no fire.

24 Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and it shall be the god who answers by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
25 Then said Elijah unto the prophets of Baal, Choose for yourselves: one bull and prepare it first, for you are many, and call on the name of the Lord your god, but put no fire to sacrifice.
26 And they took the bullock which was given them, prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, answer us! But there was no voice and no one answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

27 it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, saying, Cry aloud, for he is a god: either he is talking, or having something to do, or he is on a journey, perhaps he is asleep, and need to agree.
28 And they cried aloud and, as was his custom, cut themselves with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was no voice, no answer, no answer.

30 Then Elijah said to all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.
31 It took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord, saying, Israel shall be thy name;
32 and with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.
33 Then put the wood, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt offering and on the wood.

34 And he said, Do it the second time, and they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time, and they did it the third time.
35 So the water ran around the altar, and he filled the trench also with water.
36 It came to pass when it was time to offer the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came and said, Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am thy servant, and as you say I have done all these things.
37 Hear me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that thou, O Lord, are God, and that thou hast come back to your heart.
38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
39 When the people saw it, fell with all his face, and said: The Lord is God! The Lord is God!

The prophet Elijah said to the people: when are you going to stand there on the wall? Did you not know that the wall belongs to the devil. So. Be strong and brave and true. Decide and then follow the God you choose.

The Prophet Elijah, a man full of anointing and power of the Holy Spirit of God called the children of the wicked for a challenge. The children of the devil stood from morning till evening crying, praying, and martyring themselves to see if the false god of them did anything. It did not work! The false god neither showed up nor sent a message.

The Prophet Elijah came to taunt them saying it was for them to scream louder because the false god of them should be deaf, or was traveling, or asleep, or perhaps he could be busy beating a chat with someone and because of that he would not have heard the cry of his people who did everything possible to wake him. The truth is that god bowl was half asleep when done bear hibernates in winter and because it gave no sign of life.

The Prophet Elijah, full of confidence, not him, but the arm of the Lord Strong and Mighty. For he knew very well what was the God he served, ordered to place the offering and on top and really increased the difficulty for the fire to spread. This he did just to show people that infidel unbeliever and how the true God does:

Gave no other. With our Living God Almighty has no error:

God answered promptly prayer of the great Prophet Elijah and showed it to the infidels and unbelievers that the impossible with men is possible with God. The Lord did a miracle in a very wonderful. God performed a miracle in a way that left no enemies other option but to recognize once and for all that the Lord alone is God.

Glory to God! That our God is wonderful and powerful too!
